Topic/Skill: Grammar, Speaking, Reading,

I prepared worksheets for grammar, vocabulary, and reading at the beginner level. Below are the areas I worked on with him during the session.

Grammar

·         Explained present tense and the verb to be.

·         Practiced simple sentences, negatives, and questions using a handout created with AI.

·         Explained subject pronouns and matched them with the correct form of to be.

 

Comprehension and Reading

·         Created a summary storybook from his country with questions.

·         Student read the story, and we underlined words he didn’t know.

·         New words were written on index cards with synonyms and example sentences.

·         Student was allowed to use a translator only as a last option.

Phonics/Reading Practice

·         Created a handout with beginner-level words for pronunciation; student practiced them.

 

Homework

·         Read the story in the handout and answer the questions.

 

Next Session Plan

·         Check homework and continue working on grammar.

 Date/Time: September 2nd  Topic/ Skill: Grammar--Future Continuous Tense  Teacher Presentation: The teacher modeled how to use the future continuous tense in everyday language while also providing easy ways on how to remember when to use it.  Classroom Management: The teacher timed each section of the lesson very well, broke it up into parts. Parts included: teaching, examples, discussion, activity, review.  Material: Powerpoint and Textbook Student Participation: Everyone gave their own example during the discussion and activity points of the lecture.  Feedback Provided: The teacher would listen to the example sentences given by the students and would correct the vocabulary or grammar tense errors.
