Topic/Skill: Grammar, listening and Reading
I checked and gave him feedback on his reading assignment. We also worked on
worksheets I prepared for grammar, listening, and reading at the beginner
level. Below are the areas we covered during the session:
Grammar

Explained and practiced the Simple Past Tense.

Provided a worksheet and a list of regular and
irregular verbs.
Comprehension, Reading, and Listening
·
Listening:
I read a short paragraph to him and then asked questions about the story.
·
Reading:
He read a short paragraph and answered related questions.
Homework
·
Grammar practice handout.
·
Reading handout with comprehension questions.
Speaking (Conversation)
We had a short conversation about his week, what he did, and his plans for the
weekend. I also asked him questions about his country. He is improving and
seems more relaxed in conversation, but he still needs encouragement to use
complete sentences. I allocated about 10 minutes for this activity.
Improvements
He has made progress in comprehension, listening, and vocabulary. His speaking
still needs work, but he is trying more and feels more comfortable expressing
himself. I will begin providing higher-level materials to continue challenging
him.
Next Session Plan
·
Review his homework.
·
Work on the Simple Future Tense and Prepositions
of Time.
·
Continue with reading and listening, using more
challenging texts (low-intermediate to intermediate level), since the beginner
level is becoming too easy for him.
