Topic/Skill: Introductions and listening

This lesson was the first lesson with Luis! We started this lesson with introductions: talking about where we each were from, our jobs, and our English backgrounds. I learned he was from Orlando and works in helping carpenters with wood. He told me that his biggest need for help was in the field of listening. This was my hardest topic during the TEFL course, so I knew this would be harder than the speaking lessons I had with Seugnhye. This was supposed to be an introductory lesson, so I did not bring anything prepared for I did not know quite yet what he wanted help with. I tried speaking about my day - like I had with Seunghye - in order to help with his listening. This did quite work as well as it did with Seunghye. I think that was due to me talking too fast for him, my accent, and my internet. Teaching listening was already hard, but doing it virtually posed another challenge. But through talking with him some more about his interests and what helps him learn, I found a couple topics that I can find YouTube videos about for the next lesson.

 Date/Time: September 2nd  Topic/ Skill: Grammar--Future Continuous Tense  Teacher Presentation: The teacher modeled how to use the future continuous tense in everyday language while also providing easy ways on how to remember when to use it.  Classroom Management: The teacher timed each section of the lesson very well, broke it up into parts. Parts included: teaching, examples, discussion, activity, review.  Material: Powerpoint and Textbook Student Participation: Everyone gave their own example during the discussion and activity points of the lecture.  Feedback Provided: The teacher would listen to the example sentences given by the students and would correct the vocabulary or grammar tense errors.
